Kenney Reservoir Drowning Victim Identified

A man who drowned on Wednesday in Kenney Reservoir near Rangely, Colorado  has been identified. 32-year-old Francis Manu had slid into the water off the cliffs and had not resurfaced. According to the Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office, a sheriff’s deputy was flagged down near the Kenney Reservoir dam at about 5:00pm on Wednesday with a report that a man had been underwater for around 5 minutes. Friends had jumped in and tried to rescue Mr. Manu but were unable to find him. The Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Rangely Fire, Ambulance and the Police Department. Divers recovered the body from about 30 feet of water at around 8:20pm. An autopsy will be performed in Grand Junction.
