Duchesne County announced that Phase 9 of the Junk Vehicle Removal Contest has been completed and 127 junk vehicles were hauled away. Ten dollars per junk vehicle was placed in a prize fund, resulting in $1,270 dollars worth of cash prizes. Duchesne County Commissioners held the drawing and announced the following as the winners: Becky Wolf, Christian Thomsen, James Maxwell, Jana Sweat, and Tom Nokes with the first prize of $635 dollars. Phase 10 of this contest is now underway for Duchesne County and will go until at least 100 more vehicles are collected. The contest is open to residents and property owners of Duchesne County including all of its cities and towns. The contest is funded from revenues associated with the Blue Bench Landfill. To date, a total of 1,641 junk vehicles have been removed under this program and $16,410 dollars in prize money awarded.
