A Uintah County Jail inmate has not handled his situation well this month as he faces new felony charges associated with causing damage to the jail over multiple occasions on multiple days. 35-year-old Cort Warren first added to his charges on January 7th when he flooded his cell by flushing a shirt down the toilet. He also managed to heavily scratch the top and bottom glass of the cell’s door. Warren was moved to the jail’s Isolation Section. On January 8th, deputies were called to Warren’s cell after water was again reported coming from under the cell room and spreading even into the dayroom of that section. Deputies arrived and the fire sprinkler had been triggered in Warren’s cell and was flooding the cell. Warren was once again moved. Deputies reviewed the security footage and observed that Warren made multiple attempts to break the cell’s camera unsuccessfully. He then climbed onto the sink and worked to break the sprinkler off the cell wall. His efforts eventually paid off and the sprinkler was damaged and the area was flooded. Warren now faces 3 charges of Felony Destruction of Jail Property. Warren is in jail for Felony Violation of a Protective Order which he pleaded Guilty to in August 2023.
