There is a great diversity of plants and wildlife in Dinosaur National Monument. Some has been there for hundreds of years and other introduced through men. An invasive species that Dinosaur National Monument is asking help from the public to control is the Russian Olive plant. It has a yellow fruit and silvery leaves. Unfortunately it is quite hardy and can survive in very difficult conditions. One of the reasons it can survive so well is that it hogs the ground water from other plants. If any park adventurers happen upon the plant try to get a location (GPS coordinates would be preferable) and a picture of its location to share with park officials.
