Several residents on South Vernal Avenue in Uintah County had a scare this week when an intoxicated man allegedly broke into their homes before being arrested. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers responded to a report that a man had been banging on a resident’s door before knocking the door in and eventually leaving. When officers arrived, the home owner described the intruder as a large white male in a grey tanktop with tattoos on his arms. Once the door was knocked in, the man walked towards the home owner down a hallway before eventually leaving and heading to a residence to the southwest. As they spoke to the victim, the officers saw two individuals exit the nearby residence and the individuals called to the officers, stating they needed help right away as they had been assaulted with a knife inside their residence. The officer found the suspect in the kitchen and noted that he had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and was slurring words. 45-year-old Boe Lewis Horrocks was placed under arrest and is charged with 2nd Degree Felony Burglary of a Dwelling and Misdemeanor Criminal Trespass, Property Damage, Interferring with a Peace Officer, and Public Intoxication.
