Authorities are urging all that regularly travel SR-121(500 North) in Vernal to plan ahead with an alternate route on Thursday as there will be a road closure that significantly impacts routes, especially to schools in the area. The 500 North 1500 West intersection will be closed Thursday, February 5th, between 9:30am and 3:00pm. This will affect students and traffic near UBTech, Uintah High School, Ashley Elementary and beyond. Thursday’s closure is part of a Rocky Mountain Power project. Additionally, Uintah County shared that from February 4th through the 11th, 1500 West will be closed along Kid’s Canal between Main Street and 500 North. Thankfully, the intersection of 1500 West and Main Street will remain open. All are urged to make safety a top priority, plan ahead, and if you have a student traveling to and from the high school, help them plan an alternate route, especially tomorrow, February 5th.
