A County Health Rankings and Roadmaps program aimed at promoting a national culture of health shows that health in Uintah Basin counties ranks low in the state of Utah. The program comes from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and uses health department data measuring factors like premature death, high school graduation rates, obesity, smoking, unemployment, and teen births annually by county. Based on this data, the top five counties for health outcomes in the state of Utah are ranked Morgan, Wasatch, Cache, Davis, and Utah County at number 5. In contrast, the bottom five counties are Duchesne, Uintah, Emery, San Juan, and Carbon in last place. Piute and Daggett Counties were not ranked based on limited data.
