The Utah Department of Corrections removed state inmates from the Daggett County Jail last week after allegations of misconduct surfaced. According to the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office, 80 state inmates were removed from the jail on Friday, February 17th. Several weeks ago, Daggett County Sheriff Jerry Jorgensen notified the Utah Department of Corrections of a situation he had been made aware of and asked them to investigate. “Inmate safety is our primary concern,” shares the Sheriff’s Office, “and Daggett County takes the allegations very seriously. Daggett County has and will continue to be cooperative during the course of the investigation and looks forward to an ongoing relationship with the Utah Department of Corrections.”
