UDOT announced on Friday that construction on US-191 through Indian Canyon is slowing down. “Crews are working to finish up their projects for the season in preparation for a winter shut down beginning in November,” shares the announcement. “Over the next couple of weeks crews will finish painting the roads, adding signage, and removing traffic control. On the south side of the summit, crews will continue working between US-6 and Emma Park Road installing conduit with fiber. Most of this work will take place in the road shoulders.” Work completed this year includes the intersection improvements in Duchesne, shoulder widening at Sowers Canyon, shoulder widening at Skitzy Canyon, shoulder widening at Right Fork Canyon, 2 miles of southbound passing lane, and chain up and chain off areas. “Work next season will focus on improvements at the Indian Canyon Summit and to the south. Crews will be widening the road to provide wider shoulders and chain up/off areas, improving pull-off and brake check areas, and repaving.”
