As we start into a new year, we often reflect on the happenings of the closing year. Here might be something that you missed in 2018. The annual community Holly Days was a rousing success for Vernal with many great events. In the
Parade of Lights
there was a very special treat that you might not have recognized. Showalter Ford had a 2018 Mustang GT350 Shelby Cobra that traveled in the
parade of lights
. The GT350 was originally released in 1965 and was designed by Carroll Shelby because Henry Ford wanted a race car to beat the Ferrari. The Shelby GTs were discontinued in 1970 and then returned in 2011. A redesign was unveiled in 2015. The 2018 GT350 that was in the parade was a rare opportunity to see such a vehicle as there was only about 400 of these models made in 2018. What makes it even more of a treat is that the GT350 will not be made in 2019 as Ford is re-introducing a new series. The Shelby might not be seen again on public display. It all depends on whether Showalter Ford has sold it before then. But if you were there, you were a witness of a machine that only has 400 in existence on planet earth. What a sight for Vernal eyes!
