While a decision has not been made, leaders within Roosevelt City have been considering hunting regulations on City owned property. During the Council meeting on November 1st, Roosevelt City Police Chief Mark Watkins shared that he believes no hunting, including bow hunting, should be permitted within City limits. The Council explored the factors and liabilities when considering City owned property within City limits and outside of City limits. Allowing hunting on certain properties through a draw and in collaboration with the Division of Wildlife Resources was brought up as was the idea that Roosevelt citizens should be given priority on access. No action was taken and it was generally agreed that an ordinance would need to be created before moving forward with anything.
