The hard work, selfless service, and spooky skills of hundreds of locals was celebrated last night at the record breaking announcement of the 2025 Hotel Vernal Haunt’s record breaking results. The 10 nights of the Haunt shattered the previous record in 2023 of $73,000 by raising a mind blowing $103,500 during this year’s events. This brings the total raised by the Hotel Vernal Haunt to $454,000 since its first year in 2018. During last night’s banquet celebration, it was shared that it was also a record breaking year for sponsors with 113 sponsorships and each sponsor’s name was read out loud. This year’s Haunt had over 300 volunteers who gave an accumulated 8,000 volunteer hours. Many of those volunteers gave more than just their time as they were the targets of zombie paintball during which over 1000 shooters fired off an estimated 165,000 paintballs. The most powerful moments of the night were the presenting of the checks to the recipient charities, each of whom dedicated many hours to the success of this year’s Haunt. Checks were presented to Uintah County Search and Rescue for $4,500 dollars, Utah Foster Care for $14,000 dollars, KLIC(Keeping Love In Communities) for $15,000 dollars, Project Alley for $34,000 dollars, and Friends Against Family Violence for $36,000 dollars. The evening was a powerful reminder of the amazing good that can be accomplished when working together.
