A Warrant of Arrest has been filed in 8th District Court for the mother of a 15-month-old baby who was found unresponsive from Fentanyl exposure. According to the Affidavit For Arrest Warrant, the baby was rushed to Uintah Basin Medical Center by his Uncle on January 26th. The baby was given several rounds of Narcan before being put on a Narcan drip and life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi. Testing showed the baby had a Fentanyl level of 6.7 when a high dose is considered to be 3. Deputies served a search warrant on January 27th on the Neola residence where the baby had been staying since mid-December. Drug paraphernalia was found throughout the residence, as well as methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana. In initially speaking with investigators the day after the hospitalization, the baby’s mother disclosed that she had been using methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl over the past few months. Efforts to reach her were unsuccessful after that conversation resulting in the issuing of the arrest warrant. 29-year-old Isabella Capri Montes is charged with 2nd Degree Felony Endangering a Child Resulting in Bodily Injury. Court records show that Montes has a history of drug charges and child endangerment, including convictions in 2020, 2018, and 2017. Montes’ 2017 conviction included a charge of Endangerment of a Child. According to that Probable Cause Statement, officers found methamphetamine on a table in the residence where Montes and her children were staying. K-9 Rocco gave a positive indication for drugs in the bedroom where Montes and her children had stayed and paraphernalia, a meth pipe, and bags of methamphetamine were found inside. She was found Guilty on the drug charges as well as Endangerment of a Child. According to the current Affidavit for Arrest Warrant, Montes location is unknown. The 15-month-old baby was brought into the care of the state.
