A crash on Highway 40 involving two pickup trucks resulted in serious injuries and affected traffic on Thursday morning. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 8am and was near mile marker 74 on Highway 40. An eastbound white GMC pickup lost control on the slick roadway and went into the westbound lanes resulting in a quasi head-on crash. The passenger of the white pickup that lost control was ejected during the collision. They were transported by ground until they could meet a life flight helicopter, and the adult male was transported by air in serious condition. The driver was transported with moderate injuries. The black pickup’s occupants also suffered injuries but no one was transported. The accident blocked all lanes for 10 to 15 minutes, but then they opened one lane and alternated traffic until the scene was clear.
