At least one Uintah High School teacher has a serious sense of humor and delivered a heavy dose of it for the UHS prom on Saturday. Rachelle Durrant is a favorite English teacher at Uintah High who showed students how to do a prom date right. As a performer inSaturday’s UBOC concert, her husband Mark could not attend prom with her so Rachelle took matters into her own hands and found a date to impress her students, pop superstar Adam Levine. The dashing singer was dressed to impress in his Sunday best with an added tie hung on his cardboard cutout frame. Students tagged along for the date which included buckling Adam in and cruising around town in the Durrant’s minivan, dinner at Swains (though Adam only ordered water but never took a sip), and finally living it up at the dance where the cutout popstar showed his moves like Jagger with the help of students. “How this started,” explained Rachelle’s husband Mark, “is Rachelle told her students that if she had a cardboard cutout of Adam Levine she would take him to prom.” Ever resourceful, the students ordered one in plenty of time, making for a hilarious and memorable prom for all.
