Representatives from Heritage Auto Group, BHI, and the community gathered on Thursday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Chevrolet dealership to be built in Vernal on West Highway 40. Jon Weese, President and CEO of Heritage Auto, explained that this dealership will be the first in the state of Utah with Chevrolet’s new brand image. In fact, it will be among the first in surrounding states as well! Weese shared that he’s been dreaming of bringing this Chevrolet dealership to Vernal for years and was persistent until it became a reality. Heritage Auto Group announced the relocation of a Wyoming Chevrolet dealership to Vernal in 2024. The Chevrolet dealership has been operating on East Highway 40 at a temporary location until the new dealership is ready. “We’re not just going to build a minimal store,” shared Weese. “We are actually over building…This will be greater than the current local population supports, so why are we doing it? We are looking to the next 20 years.” Weese spoke with excitement about the future of the Uintah Basin and the future of Heritage Auto dealerships located here. Brett Haslem, Chief Operating Officer of BHI, shared that contracting on local jobs like this one is a matter of hometown pride for BHI and that many local jobs are supported when companies decide to invest in the Uintah Basin. The timeline of construction will be shared by BHI in the coming weeks.
