The Utah Department of Transportation has released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Heber Valley Corridor which will have a major impact on heavy industrial traffic traveling to and from the Uintah Basin. “This study looked at how we can improve regional and local mobility, reduce congestion, and create better options for walking and biking, all while respecting Heber City’s vision for a vibrant, historic town center,” shares the UDOT announcement. “After studying multiple options, Alternative B has been identified as the preferred alternative. Alternative B would create a four-lane corridor on the west side of Heber City, providing a new connection between US-189 and south US-40, along with a dedicated 12-foot multi-use trail for people walking, biking, and rolling.” The public comment period opens this Friday and runs through March 9th. A virtual public meeting will be held on January 27th at 6pm via Zoom while an in person hearing is scheduled for January 28th in the Wasatch High School Library.
