Heavy Rains Result in Need for Rescue at the Former Camelot Resort; All Asked to Avoid the Area

Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office posted a warning on Thursday concerning the rainstorms that were to come over the weekend and it turned out it was justified. Deputies and county road crews spent Friday trying to help at least a dozen people get to safety after flash flooding resulted in a scary situation. The roads around the Promised Land Resort at the Pinnacles (previously known as Camelot Resort) had debris flow because of the heavy rains, trapping those at the resort. This area has been impacted by the Dollar Ridge Fire and subsequent flash flooding and debris flow last year. Luckily there were no injuries but with the chance of additional rainstorms, the Sheriff’s Office is asking residents and the public to avoid the area for safety reasons.
