It was one of the biggest years of participation for the Special Olympic Law Enforcement Torch Run in Duchesne County on Thursday. “This is one event Duchesne County Sheriff Deputies and staff look forward to every year,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “The Law Enforcement Torch Run is one of the largest fundraisers and public awareness functions for the Special Olympics throughout the state. Duchesne’s Torch Run started [Thursday] morning in Roosevelt, continued on in Myton and finished off the day in Duchesne.” The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Roosevelt PD, and Utah Highway Patrol also participated to support these special athletes. The annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Uintah Dinos is happening today in Uintah County and the community is invited to come cheer these Special Olympians on. The run starts at 3:00pm at 200 East Main Street in Vernal and ends at Wendy’s on West Highway 40. Good luck to all the Special Olympians in the Uintah Basin through all the upcoming competitions.
