Construction on the new Women’s Center at Ashley Regional Medical Center has made great progress. The hospital announced the Grand Opening and Open House will be held
May 9th from 1 to 3pm
. Ashley Regional broke ground on the Women’s Center in October 2016 as part of a $35 million dollar expansion and renovation project of the hospital with the Women’s Center and an ICU as the focal point of the project. The three-story 30,000 square foot tower houses the Women’s Center with a new C-section room and new labor and postpartum rooms as well as the ICU with a fully renovated medical-surgical unit. “We are so excited to open our new Women’s Center,” shares hospital representative Debbie Spafford. “Not only will it provide a beautiful new area for our new moms and babies, but will also include new services for all women. The new center has 3-D Mammography which sees more breast tissue and identifies possible cancer in its earliest stages.” During the groundbreaking ceremony, hospital CEO Ben Cluff aid that the community is the reason Ashley Regional Medical Center exists and that the expansion supports their mission of Making Communities Better.
