Graffiti at Dry Fork Canyon Trailhead to be Removed

The Bureau of Land Management announced Tuesday their plans to conduct a graffiti removal project in Dry Fork Canyon at the end of this month. According to the BLM announcement, multiple reports of graffiti at the first trailhead for the popular Flume trail in Dry Fork Canyon came in on April 30th. It is believed that one or more unknown persons used spray cans to paint on multiple boulders and rocks. “We are always hopeful that users of public lands can appreciate and be respectful of the natural resources that we all enjoy,” shares Green River District Manager Gary Torres. “We encourage all visitors to public lands to leave them clean and litter free for the next visitor.” Visitors are asked to follow the “Leave No Trace” principles, that include: plan ahead and prepare, travel and camp on durable surfaces, dispose of waste properly, leave what you find, minimize campfire impacts, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors. The graffiti removal project is taking place on May 29th. Vandalism of public lands is illegal under federal law. If you know anything about the graffiti in Dry Fork, please call the BLM tip line at 1-800-722-3998.
