‘Gloves For Good Guys’ Aimed at Protecting Local Law Enforcement

A local effort is raising money for an important piece of equipment to protect Basin law enforcement officers. The effort known as ‘Gloves For Good Guys’ wants to give every officer in the Uintah Basin special gloves designed to prevent punctures and contamination from dangerous substances. Law enforcement officers routinely search for illegal drugs and weapons during felony traffic stops and there is a real danger of contracting an infectious disease from needles or other objects during the search. The special gloves, while expensive, are effective but are beyond the scope of most agencies budgets. Fundraising is underway to purchase 80 pairs, for a goal of raising $6,400 dollars. Donations can be made through Tim Davis at The Hounds Barbershop in Roosevelt or at the Roosevelt Christian Assembly. Questions can be directed to Tim at 801-244-8997.
