Give’m Health: ‘Together For Life’ Program Promoting Seat Belt Use

by | Jan 26, 2022 | News | 0 comments

TriCounty Health Department is promoting seat belt use utilizing a special program through the Utah Department of Public Safety. The ‘Together for Life’ project is aimed at addressing the significant disparities that exist between urban and rural rates of seat belt use among Utah citizens and Uintah County was chosen as one of the counties in the third cohort of the project. “We are just working on a positive culture framework so instead of [being like Chicken Little] we are saying, did you know that 96% of Uintah County residents want people they care for to always wear a seat belt?” shares TriCounty Health Educator Jeramie Tubbs. “We want to build on that kind of positivity.” Together for Life offers multiple tools that can be used to guide conversations about seat belt use within the community by adults, workplaces, leadership, schools, and students. All are encouraged to view and share the Together for Life materials. Just visit www.togetherforlife.org or contact the local coordinator by calling 435-247-1177 or emailing jtubbs@tricountyhealth.com
