Gang Activity Leads to Arrest, Charges, and Further Warrants

Gang activity in Roosevelt has resulted in one arrest and warrants for additional people involved. 22-year-old Sky Gardner was arrested after events, labeled as gang activity, took place on February 22nd. Roosevelt Police were dispatched to a possible kidnapping at 150 North 100 East in which a man said he witnessed a female friend being dragged out of a house. Court documents state that the man attempted to help the woman and was threatened with a pistol and the man left and called police. When officers arrived the woman was unable to be located but police later made contact with the woman who said she had been taken, forced into a vehicle and taken to several locations. During the encounter, one of the men in the group shot two rounds out the window while driving towards 121 East 500 North. Once inside another residence, the woman was taped with Duct tape and a gun was placed in her mouth multiple times. The trigger was pulled several times while two bullets were in the gun. The woman was then put into the crawl space under the home where there were no lights. The woman was later pulled out, threatened not to tell the cops and was struck in the mouth with the gun, cutting her lip and breaking some teeth. While left alone later, the woman was able to call a cab and leave. The woman went to the UBMC ER and was treated for facial fractures. Sky Gardner was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Kidnapping and 2nd Degree Aggravated Assault. Warrants have also been issued for Crystal Gardner and Ashley Brooks, who have also been charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault.
