Furever Buddy’s Dog Rescue Looking for Volunteers for Dog Sleepover Program

Have you ever had a dog sleepover? Have you ever heard of a dog sleepover? Well it is a special program that Furever Buddy’s Dog Rescue in Roosevelt has implemented and its the perfect situation for those that love animals but do not have a lot of time to commit to full time care. Individual and families can take a dog home for any length of time that works for them, even if it happens to be one night. Why would the shelter want to do that? A study done by Arizona State University shows that dogs living in animal shelters are highly stressed. When the dogs were able to stay at a person’s home even for a weekend their stress hormone cortisol decreased. Another reason is to get some good sleep which is hard to catch in a shelter. Lisa Gunter, the author on the study, says that “trying to sleep in a shelter is like trying to sleep with noisy neighbors. You can’t get in a good nap during the day.” The rescue also allows for ‘dogventures’ where people can pick up a dog and go on an adventure, like a hike. Visit
