Funeral Services Announced for Trooper Ellsworth

Local law enforcement will join many throughout the state at the funeral services for Trooper Eric Ellsworth who will be laid to rest in the Brigham City Cemetery on Wednesday. Trooper Eric Ellsworth was hit by a vehicle near Garland City in northern Utah while he responded to a call of low hanging power lines on November 18th. He passed away on November 22nd. Trooper Ellsworth had served with the Utah Highway Patrol for 7 years and is survived by his wife, three young sons and his parents. His own father spent his career as a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper. Governor Gary Herbert has ordered the flag lowered this Wednesday, the day of Trooper Ellsworth’s funeral. “Eric was an exceptional second generation UHP Trooper who cared deeply for his young family,” shares Governor Herbert. “A committed public servant, he paid the ultimate sacrifice while keeping others safe from harm.”
