A fugitive wanted out of Colorado was arrested in Vernal on Friday. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Stanley Lucero had a half a million dollar warrant out for his arrest in connection to a homicide that took place in Grand Junction. “After law enforcement received information Lucero was in the Vernal area, members from the Utah and Colorado Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team (VFAST), along with Naples and Vernal City Police, and the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office were able to track Lucero’s location and take him into custody without incident in a parking lot on East Highway 40 in Vernal,” shares the announcement. Lucero will be held in the Uintah County Jail until his extradition to Colorado.
