Free Fishing Day in Utah; Basin Residents Urged to Join the Fun

by | Jun 8, 2018 | News | 0 comments

Saturday is free fishing day in Utah and with so many beautiful fishing spots in the Basin it would be a crime to miss the fun. “Free Fishing Day is an opportunity to get your families out for the start of summer!” shares DWR representative Tonya Kieffer. “It’s the one day of the year that you do not need a fishing license to go fishing, though we hope you CATCH the urge to purchase a license and fish all year round.” On June 9th, there are plenty of opportunities to borrow gear and fish in waters throughout the state. Free fishing events will be held in northeastern Utah at Moose Pond 9am to noon, Lower Stillwater Ponds 9am to noon, and Steinaker Reservoir 7am to 2pm. For more information, visit
