Flaming Gorge Days Back And Ready To Entertain

by | May 16, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Green River, Wyoming’s Flaming Gorge Days is not only happening this year, it will be back to its former glory. This year’s event is happening June 27th and 28th and will feature a concert with 5 bands, a “Heroes” parade, and the usual vendors and tournaments. This is especially exciting considering the hit Green River took in 2023 when it was discovered that the funds for the event had been depleted and the event had to be cancelled. In July that year, the manager over the funds, Jennifer Nicole Melvin, was arrested for larceny. Police investigation revealed that between 2022 and 2023, Melvin had stolen about $43,000 dollars from the Flaming Gorge Days account and $34,500 dollars from the Urban Renewal Agency account. Melvin eventually pleaded Guilty as part of her plea deal and was sentenced to 4 to 8 years in the state prison. Green River citizens rallied to still put on some events in 2023, grew in 2024, and are back with a full schedule of events for 2025. All are invited to Flaming Gorge Days.
