The public will soon be able to tour the Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor Center though guided tours of the dam will no longer be offered. According to a press release from the Bureau of Reclamation, the Visitor Center will reopen its doors beginning April 15th and the public will have access to the exhibits and facilities during normal hours. While the dam tour is no longer available, part of the walkway still allows visitors to view the riverside of the dam. “Opening for the 2022 recreation season offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the dam and the hydropower operations while sharing the beauty of Flaming Gorge,” shares the announcement. “All visitors will be asked to adhere to the posted pandemic safety guidelines so that everyone can enjoy the area safely. The Flaming Gorge Visitor Center is owned by Reclamation and operated through the Intermountain Natural History Association.” For more information, call 435-885-3135.
