The annual ‘Fishing with the Fox’ event culminated in prize drawings during the Alive After 5 finale at the Uintah County Library park on August 7th. ‘Fishing with the Fox’ is a partnership between Evans Family Media’s 98.5 The Fox and the Utah Division of Natural Resources that aims to promote fishing on local lakes and reservoirs. Lower Stillwater Ponds, Browne Lake, and Steinaker Reservoir were each stocked with tagged fish with a grand prize destined to be awarded to one of the participants. This year, Fishing with the Fox had 284 tags caught and registered and there was a great turnout for the prize drawing on August 7th. Out of 550 tags released, 88 came out of Steinaker, 101 out of Lower Stillwater, and 95 out of Browne. Ron Morrill walked away the big winner with the oversized check for $3,500 thanks to the Wildlife Conservation Foundation. Mr. Morrill had only caught and registered 1 tagged fish and luck favored him that night. Several families participated and caught a decent amount of tagged fish together with one family catching an accumulative 67 tags. Many of these participants still won prizes in the event’s normal drawings courtesy of Basin Sports. Great job to all the participants and a huge thanks from Evans Family Media to the event sponsors.
