Despite an increase in daily limits on lake trout under 28 inches, there is an ongoing abundance of pups in Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Fisheries managers have tagged 1,000 lake trout and of those 200 tags are eligible for a cash prize of $50 dollars. Once a fish with a tag is caught, call the number on the tag to verify if it is a prize winner. Every angler who does report their tag will receive a letter with details like when and where the fish was caught and tagged, and if the tag is a prize winner. If you did catch a winner, a check of $50 dollars will come soon after the letter. Every lake trout less than 25 inches that is harvested will help the kokanee population.
