TriCounty Health Department announced on Wednesday the first case of COVID-19 confirmed in Daggett County. According to the TriCounty Health announcement, the patient is a female between the ages of 25 and 44 and her case is believed to be a result of community-acquired transmission. “When talking about community-acquired, we simply mean that through our investigation we are unable to link this case to any other confirmed positives,” explains TriCounty Health Officer Jordan Mathis. TriCounty Health reminds the public to wear a mask whenever in public and use caution when recreating, attending events, public gatherings, shopping or any activity where it is difficult to maintain a physical distance of six feet from members of other households. The locations and individuals of potential exposure are currently being informed and TriCounty Health is instructing those with potential exposure to this case to quarantine at home.
