The State of Utah Department of Natural Resources announced that as of Wednesday, August 23rd, all fire restrictions that were set in place on June 30th within Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett Counties are now rescinded. In the letter signed by Utah State Forester Brian Cottam, it says that reduction in fire danger and improved weather conditions have resulted in reduced wildfire hazard. The original restrictions applied to all unincorporated private and state lands, not private lands within incorporated towns or city limits. Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond offered a reminder that only agriculture burning is currently allowed. Fall yard burning does not begin until September 15th.
