The Flaming Gorge Motel was vacated early Sunday morning due to fire. At 1:43am Green River and surrounding fire departments were dispatched to the structure fire. Police alerted all the tenants and safely vacated the burning structure. There were about 18 firefighters with multiple engines that were able to confine the fire to the room that it originated in. Evidence points to the fire starting from a heater/air conditioner unit that spread to a mattress then burned up a wall and self-ventilated through the window. Thanks to the quick response and evacuation there were no injuries and minimal spread of the fire.
