FBI Investigating Homicide on Uintah-Ouray Reservation

The FBI is investigating a possible murder that took place on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation on June 20th. According to FBI representative Sandra Yi Barker, 19-year-old Deland Anston Cornpeach was arrested and is being held in the Duchesne County Jail for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as part of the homicide investigation. Barker confirms that Cornpeach is being held in connection with the death of 38-year-old Eli Ray Poowegup. Additional details on the investigation will be reported as they become available.
