A vehicle crash on Highway 40 claimed one life around
1:30am
on Monday
morning. The Colorado State Patrol reports that the accident took place on Highway 40 about 5 miles east of Craig when a pickup truck drove off the left side of the road then corrected right and traveled off the highway. A second vehicle had been traveling towards the accident but was able to stop in time, witnessing the crash. The driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation into the cause of the accident is still underway.
