Fatal Crash Near Strawberry Reservoir Near Highway 40

Two people are dead after a box truck traveled into their lane of travel on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir on Saturday afternoon. According to Utah Highway Patrol, an eastbound box truck was drifting to the side of the road when it overcorrected causing it to cross the center lane divider and crash into an oncoming truck. The accident occurred at about 2:30pm. The oncoming pickup truck had two occupants: a 39-year-old male driver and 34-year-old male passenger. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The box truck driver was taken to the hospital but was reported in stable condition. At least one lane of traffic was closed on Highway 40 during the following cleanup. As of last report, the crash was still under investigation.
