Eagle View Elementary Locked Down As Wildlife Officials Search for Mountain Lion

Extra precautions were taken on Tuesday as wildlife officials searched for a mountain lion in Fort Duchesne. According to the BIA Ft. Duchesne Police Department, Ute Fish and Wildlife were searching for the mountain lion near the Hilltop Subdivision. Eagle View Elementary was put on lockdown while the animal was being tracked. In the afternoon, the lockdown was lifted after the mountain lion had been chased west of the Hilltop Subdivision into a den. All residents in the area were urged to be vigilant with small animals and children until the mountain lion was secured. Eagle View Elementary shared their appreciation for the Ute Fish and Wildlife and the BIA for making sure students were safe and secure.
