DWR: Ways To Celebrate Earth Day

by | Apr 21, 2026 | News | 0 comments

April 22nd is Earth Day and the Division of Wildlife Resources has suggestions on ways all can celebrate. Among the suggestions made is to participate in the Slow The Flow Utah Initiative. All of the simple steps can help keep more water in Utah’s lakes and reservoirs, which in turn benefits fish and wildlife in the area. Slow The Flow tips are to delay watering your lawn until May 15th, spot water trees and shrubs only as necessary, follow the weekly lawn watering guide based on your county’s conditions, replace your grass with plants that require less water, turn the faucet off while you brush your teeth, try to reduce shower times and use a water-efficient showerhead, install a water-saving smart irrigation controller, and turn your sprinkler system off during or after a rainstorm.
