DWR: Updates Made To Hunting Relief Options Related To Natural Disasters

by | Dec 9, 2025 | News | 0 comments

The Utah Wildlife Board approved changes to an administrative rule regarding relief options for permit holders whose hunt is affected by wildfire or other natural disasters. Now, when a natural disaster prevents their participation in the hunt listed on their permit, the hunter is allowed one or more of the following options: reinstating their bonus or preference points, waiving their waiting period, if applicable, or refunding their permit fee, minus a $25 processing fee. The hunter must also fill out an application and submit it to the DWR within 30 days of the last day of the hunting season listed on their permit.
