The Division of Wildlife Resources has implemented occupancy limits at Old Fort Ponds in Uintah County. DWR Conservation Outreach Manager Tonya Kieffer-Selby explains that there have been recent days with up to 50 people at the ponds but the pond occupancy is now a maximum of 25 people, while keeping distances between individuals to a minimum of 6 feet. “Thank you for your support and continued use of the Old Fort Ponds WMA for your recreational activities,” shares the DWR. “Due to the current situation with COVID-19,  citizens in attendance at the Old Fort Ponds are recommended to follow Utah’s state issued guidelines for mass gatherings until further notice…” If the guidelines are an issue for the public to follow, the DWR may have to limit the total at the ponds to 10 or less. Questions can be directed to the UDWR Vernal Office at 435-781-9453.
