DWR Dedicated Hunter Volunteers Complete Projects To Benefit Wildlife

2025 was a successful year for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Dedicated Hunter Program, a program that Uintah Basin hunting enthusiasts may want to participate in.  In 2025, there were 8,737 people who participated in the program completing 1,176 projects but why do they do it? DWR Dedicated Hunter Coordinator Bryan Christensen explains that dedicated hunters join up to do 32 hours of service in a 3 year time period and in exchange they get the opportunity to hunt more than the average person. Dedicated Hunters get to hunt all three seasons and it triples or more their time in the field. “The Dedicated Hunter Program provides opportunities for hunters and the DWR to work together as partners to improve wildlife habitat, increase hunting and angling opportunities and support all forms of wildlife recreation in Utah,” shares DWR Dedicated Hunter Coordinator Aaron Sisson.
