A woman was arrested last week after she drove her vehicle off the road and then tried hitchhiking to Randlett. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a vehicle was observed about 80 yards off of the road near 1500 East 3750 South in Ballard and someone called Dispatch after being asked for a ride by a woman walking southbound on 3750 South. Officers identified the driver of the vehicle off the road as 24-year-old Marley Nicolett Sauter who told officers that her wheels and brakes weren’t working, causing her to go straight through an intersection and off the roadway. She admitted that she had 2 shots of vodka that day and field sobriety testing was conducted. Inside the vehicle vodka was spilled, indicating an open container at the time of the crash. Officers located Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. It was found that Marley had past drug convictions and a current felony offense in court for drug possession. She was arrested and is charged with Felony Drug Possession and DUI, among other charges. Marley’s bond hearing is scheduled for today.
