A woman involved in a vehicle accident who left the scene to get in the McDonald’s drive thru was arrested for DUI when officers arrived. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were called to a vehicle accident at 1050 West Highway 40 in Vernal on January 30th and made contact with the driver while she sat in her vehicle at the first window of the McDonald’s drive thru. The officer noted that the odor of alcohol was coming from inside the vehicle and the driver was confused when asked to provide her driver’s license. The only reason the vehicle came to a stop when she was asked to pull into the nearest parking space was due to the cement block she crashed into. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle multiple times and refused. 43-year-old Kendra Lee Lucero was then assisted out of the vehicle and placed under arrest. When doing a records check it was found that Kendra had a revoked license due to multiple alcohol offenses and needed an ignition interlock device which was not in the vehicle. Kendra Lucero has been charged with 3rd Degree Felony DUI with 2 or more offenses in 10 years, as well as other related misdemeanor offenses.
