Scammers lean heavily on inducing fear in their victims and Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to not fall for their tricks. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that they have received reports of individuals falsely claiming to be from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office. “These callers are requesting payment and threatening to send a deputy to your home for collection if you do not comply,” shares the announcement. “Please be aware that the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office will never call or text you to request money. Similarly, the Motor Vehicle Department will never contact you by phone or text to demand money or any other information. If you receive such a call or text, please do not provide any personal information or make any payments.”
