Locals are excited by the announcement that the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting an 8-week Citizens Academy this fall. The free program is for residents who want to learn more about the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement. “Given our commitment to the community and proactive problem-solving, we see the Citizens Academy as an effective way of bringing law enforcement and the public together in an informal, educational forum,” shares Sheriff David Boren. “The benefits of such a partnership can only help strengthen the entire community in terms of public safety and quality of life.” Applications are available at the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office during business hours or are available online at www.duchesne.utah.gov. All applicants must be at least 21 years old and the course begins on September 6th.
