Duchesne County Seeks EWP Funds As Flooding Damage Continues

by | Aug 20, 2021 | News | 0 comments

Even as Duchesne County has formally requested federal funds to assist with flooding damage earlier this month, the flooding damage continues with the ongoing storms. On Thursday, Ashley National Forest reported that Moon Lake Road is the latest to join the list of roads closed due to debris flow. Crews are working on it but most likely it will be closed for several days as the road was undercut by water. According to meeting minutes, the Duchesne County Commission has submitted a request for federal assistance through the Emergency Watershed Protection Program and also continues to work with the USDA Forest Service and Ashley National Forest on flood mitigation and being reimbursed for labor involved.
