Vacancies on the Duchesne County School District Board of Education have been filled. According to a Wednesday press release, the Board of Education of the Duchesne County School District met Tuesday night in a special meeting to appoint two individuals to fill the recently vacated seats in Districts One and Two. In an open meeting, seven candidates shared their interests in serving as board members, discussed their long-term focus for the board, and related their understanding of a board member’s role. At the conclusion of the meeting, the board voted unanimously to appoint Tony Smith to fill the seat in District One and Gary Nelson to fill the seat in District Two. Both Tony and Gary will be sworn into office during the next board meeting, held on June 10th at 7:00 pm. This meeting will take place at the district office and is open to the public.
