A Duchesne County Jail inmate is facing new charges following a search last week. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, two items of contraband were located in inmate Taz Jed Ivie’s property. One was a balloon and another was a pen that had been altered and taken apart. Both items had what appeared to be drug residue inside them consistent with Fentanyl and the test results were positive for Fentanyl. 33-year-old Taz Ivie is being charged with possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility, a 3rd degree felony, as items found in his property contained a testable amount of Fentanyl residue, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor, for using the balloon and pen to engage in illegal drug activity such as concealing and or using drugs.
